Irfan Ansari, MD
Irfan Ansari, M.D. is pleased to announce the opening of Frankfort Eye Center, bringing new innovative medical and surgical eye care to the Frankfort, KY and surrounding regions.
Dr. Irfan Ansari graduated from Aga Khan University Medical School in Pakistan with Honors in Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Pathology in 1997. He spent three additional rotations in Ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston; Yale Eye Center, Connecticut; and Moorfield’s Eye Hospital in England. Following medical school, he spent approximately one year doing clinical glaucoma research at Dalhousie Univeristy in Halifax, NS, Canada. Dr. Ansari completed his internship year at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Worcester, MA, and then completed an ophthalmology residency at Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, in June 2003. During his academic training, Dr. Ansari excelled amongst his peers scoring 99 percentile on the ophthalmic knowledge aptitude performance exams.
Dr. Ansari joined a group ophthalmology practice in southern Illinois where he practiced for 5 years. Dr. Ansari has successfully performed almost 3000 cataract surgeries. In addition he has also performed numerous glaucoma surgeries, oculoplastic procedures, strabismus surgeries and laser treatments.
Dr. Ansari has published in leading journals including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Archives of ophthalmology and Investigative ophthalmology and visual science.
Dr. Ansari is a Board-Certified Licensed ophthalmologist in Kentucky, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Missouri, West Virginia, and carries membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgery.
Dr. Aubrey S. Harlan is originally from Pellville, Kentucky, where she graduated from Hancock County High School. In 2006, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky where she majored in Biopsychology and minored in Chemistry. Dr. Harlan received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2010 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. She completed clinical externships at Eye Specialty Group and the private practice of Dr. Peter Benvenuto, both in Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Harlan is a member of the Kentucky Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She now resides in Versailles, Kentucky with her husband, James and their son, Keegan.
